Percorsi | Maria Rosa Franzin
From January 27 to February 25, 2024
In a touching celebration of her artistic journey, Maria Rosa Franzin presents a fascinating collection of works on the 35th anniversary of her first exhibition in 1989. The exhibition is aptly titled ‘Percorsi’, or pathways, and is a tribute to the extraordinary routes that have shaped her life and artistic expression.
Deeply personal, Maria Rosa Franzin’s jewellery is a medium through which the artist traces a vivid tapestry of her experiences, while also fully succeeding in expressing her profound gratitude to places and artists that have left an indelible mark on her creative spirit.
In close collaboration with photographer and friend Luciano Tomasin, Maria Rosa Franzin takes a remarkable step in bringing her childhood in Tripoli back to life. The photographic details infuse her works with the essence of a bygone era, creating a magnificent temporal bridge between the past and the present.
At the same time, in a touching homage to her artistic influences, ‘Percorsi’ explores the works of some of the artists closest to Maria Rosa Franzin’s heart. Among them are David Hockney with his vibrant and playful compositions, and Edward Hopper who constitutes and holds a reflection of the artist’s personal history and studies.
It is therefore a poetic journey of discovery of Maria Rosa Franzin’s life, a narrative that, starting from her roots, allows us to appreciate her artistic choices and cultural paths. In this journey, we grasp in each work the value of history and the brilliance of her artistic evolution. We have, thanks to her brave choice of guiding us along the paths of the most intimate memories, an extraordinary synthesis of elements that together generate a tapestry, a canvas of resilience, growth and authenticity, or rather a collection that crowns and celebrates a truly well-lived life.
