Clara Del Papa

Clara Del Papa is a Venezuelan-born artist with a background in architecture who later specialized in urban planning, interior design, and garden design. She was born in Guanare, Venezuela, in 1965 and graduated from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Over the years, she expanded her interests and skills, reflecting her eclectic personality.

After moving to Italy in 1991, Clara Del Papa continued to diversify her cultural experiences. She studied goldsmithing and found a particular form of self-expression in creating author jewelry. Her jewelry pieces are unique and are born out of her geographical and intellectual journeys, observations of nature, and interactions with people and places.

Her work is not focused on simplicity of form or easy wearability. Instead, she seeks to capture the essence of the places, cultures, and emotions that inspire her and translate them into metal, infusing warmth and character into what can be a cold and hard medium. Del Papa’s jewelry pieces are a result of a constant dialogue between the jewelry and the human body, exploring various materials, finishes, and artistic expressions.

Clara Del Papa’s artistic journey has taken her from architecture to goldsmithing, allowing her to create jewelry that encapsulates the nuances of her travels and experiences, embracing the complexity of emotions and cultures she has encountered along the way.
